Chasing the train :: with Andrew Nemr

An exploration of tap dance performance technology and sound. Through various types of improvised dance and live processing the piece explores the abstract as well as the more focused, including a take on the Ellington/Strayhorn composition "Take the A Train." Dedicated to Les Paul.

Excerpt from Place Panes,, performed at VBrooklyn Festival, Monkeytown, and Galapagos Art Space. The piece revolves around identity and city environments, mixing electric violin, tabla, and harmonium with electronics and video.

Chopin's Minute Waltz, in 20 Minutes :: with David Soldier
live at Le Poisson Rouge - excerpt (2010)

An old musician's joke is on the order of "it takes him half an hour to play the Minute Waltz". Soldier performs the Frederic Chopin's Minute Waltz very, very slowly, lasting nearly a half hour, while Hagerty stretches each piano note out over time.

DiD
live at Urban Stages (2011)

DiD, or "Dino is Dead" is a song from the forthcoming EP, 554. The subject of the album is my father's house, full of all of our family history, which was at danger from some people who had moved in. My friend, Ben Magnuson, and I traveled to Dayton, OH to try to rescue the house, and this song describes the turning point in the story.

live at Norte Maar (2009)

Instrumental violin-looping performance at Norte Maar, in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Jason Andrew organized this event called Transmission, in which various performers played in the gallery while being broadcast over the internet, and through a sound installation on the street. I was pulling double duty, as A/V technician for this one!

Milk N Honey Trailer
Sean Hagerty and Bray Poor - music and sound design (2007)

Promotional trailer of multi-media theater production, Milk N Honey, a play about food awareness through the eyes of disparate characters (a flavor chemist, migrant worker, freegan, and a diabetic woman, amist others). Performed at 3LD Art and Technology Center.
