Sean Hagerty has been arranging in NYC since 2005, first delving into string and horn arrangments for the Muthawit Orchestra. Later came Ben Magnuson's "Sad Repartee", a cabaret of Tom Waits songs and covers, with violin, French horn, and cello as its core. "Lady, Your Roof Brings Me Down," a selection from that show, was performed at the Bowery Ballroom in 2007 with Ben and his fellow cast of Sweeney Todd members. Sean has since been heavily involved in his band, the Freedom Haters, creating string arraments for their recordings. Other recent works include a number of loop-violin scores, part of Norte Maar's "Ballet Y Bushwick" series, and the dance score for Brian Carey Chung's "Four Arrangements on the Theme of Loss", premiered at the Baryshnikov Arts Center. His string arrangement, Apollo, has been published by Siesta Records, in Spain.
